Know what makes it inconvenient to do something with the sawdust you collect? The bag or container is directly attached to your dust collector ... and this innovation fixes that. Yes, something needs to be connected, but what if it is not the collection container? The patent pending Dust Collector Hero is a separate chamber that provides the necessary connection and once it is in place ... you can use all sorts of items for your collection container.
And stop taping up the holes those bags inevitably get going on and off the collector! With a few easy steps, you can use simple, inexpensive, single use trash bags to collect the debris. Then grab the filled bag through an easy-to-open chamber hatch, and toss it. Quickly install a new bag, and get back to making sawdust.
Yep, you read that right ... that awkward band clamp is not used to hold the bag. Oh, and by the way, you can use a rugged, reusable container in lieu of any type of bag if that works better for you.
The tangential entry of dust laden air creates a swirling motion that sends material down into the collection bag; HOWEVER the air stream then reverses to go through the center opening at the top of the collector body. A stream of gas or liquid flowing through an unbaffled exit port will create a vortex. The faster the flow, the larger the vortex (think bathtub drain, toilet, etc.) The dust collector is the same except it is "draining" upward.
When the original bag is replaced with a non-pressurized bag inside a Hero Chamber, the vortex forces can try to suck an empty or near empty bag up into the filter section. The typical way to prevent a vortex from forming is to put a large baffle plate in front of the exit port so that flow is forced to move to the exit horizontally instead of vertically. Your Hero Chamber will come with a baffle that you install just below the opening at the top of the dust collector body.
NOTE: If you are lucky enough to have a JET Vortex Cone dust collector, you will not need to install the supplied baffle. The JET Vortex Cone is a fine piece of engineering that you might want to adapt to any brand of dust collector. While the supplied baffle will also reduce the dust load on your filter, the JET Vortex Cone could further enhance your system performance. Just saying!

Typically, collector effectiveness declines as the debris inventory gets within 12-15" of the bottom of the collector barrel. If you have sufficient headroom above your dust collector, the Dust Collector Hero chamber can be taller allowing more storage below that upper 12-15" zone.
The Dust Collector Hero chamber acts a bit like a muffler for the lower parts of the dust collector. Sound intensity is noticeably decreased as a result. Measurements have shown 2-4 db decreases between a collector with and without a Hero chamber installed. (Note: While sound "intensity" and "volume" are not the same thing, "intensity"

Measurements have shown 2-4 db decreases between a collector with and without a Hero chamber installed. (Note: While sound "intensity" and "volume" are not the same thing, "intensity" is important to saving your ears! Since sound is measured on the logarithmic db scale: a reduction of 3 db is a 50% reduction in sound intensity.)
by adding the optional DC Guard Dog. It's a patent pending device that will alert you gently when the bag needs attention. Since the Dust Collector Hero chamber is mostly opaque and your choice of collection container may be as well, there is a need for something to say "Hey, need to empty me sooner than later!"
Think of it as the house dog that barks when someone comes to your door. Doesn't tell you who is there, just that attention is needed. And it was purposely designed to be a bit subtle ... never startle a woodworker using sharp tools!

It takes a bit of 5V DC energy (like your smart phone), but only when it is time to alert you with a small flashing LED light. Otherwise it is completely passive.
Oh, and by the way ... it uses fundamental concepts and has no "techy" breakables!
